When I was a youngster I wasn't much into super heroes. I even gave it some effort since many of my friends were into the various comic books I would ask them what they considered to be the best issues then I would take them home read and try to get excited... It never worked. That said the comic books that really did work for me were Weird War Tales. World War II was an endless fascination for me, and in the 70's there were tons of Army surplus stores where a kid could get a whole out fit for $1.50. Weird War Tales was the combination of war fantasy mixed with ghost soldiers, haunted tanks and zombie Nazis. An accurate history lesson. It was one of those things that as an adult when I brought up WWT no one knew what I was talking about, I started to wonder if maybe a I was remembering things all wrong.
Then after a google search I found the WWT Vol 1 from DC comics! An anthology of many of the old books in one big volume.
Amazing to see them again. Maybe that's where I got my love of skulls.

EAT YOUR ART OUT 6!
I had a great time at EYAO6, supporting the Angel City Derby Girls. The venue was Titmouse Studios in Hollywood. The Derby Girls were there dressed in full horror movie regalia.
The theme was drive in movies and all of the artist delivered amazing work. The LA Weekly listed the show and used my art piece "That Is So Fake!" for the illustration.
Coming up in April I'll be participating in the HB Show a group art show tribute to Hanna-Barbera at the Van Eaton Galleries. I'll have some sneak peeks of my pieces and some work in progress pics for the HB show here on the blog.

EAT YOUR ART OUT was started five years ago by a skater for the Angel City Derby Girls, Jane Dope, to raise funds for her struggling women’s Flat Track Roller Derby League. “Our survival is largely dependent upon sponsorships, donations and fundraising events,” Jane explains. “Eat Your Art Out is by far our most successful fundraising event, beyond my wildest dreams!”

HELLO 2013!
Welcome 2013. 2012 was special, we finished the first season of Robot And Monster the season finale will be coming up soon. Goofed off in Africa in the summer, made the 100 Robots gallery show, there is still some artwork available.
Things coming up this year; The Conjoined III sculpture show at Copro Gallery. Curated by the amazing Chet Zar with a boat load of talented sculptors, Sat Jan 19th 8pm.
I will be showing my “Cosmonaut Monkey Explores New Worlds”. If he looks a bit familiar he was first shown at Rivet Gallery in Ohio last summer. This will be the West Coast debut. He is a hefty guy and a bit of a departure from my regular art robots. Just before the holidays I had Sam from Fanboy Comics drop by my little pop art studio for an interview. I had a lot of fun, it was nice to just sit and chat in a casual setting (My house).
When I was finishing up for my art show I made a panorama of the disastrous mess, I believe it captures it pretty well. Sometimes when I look at it this way it just feels like the inside of my head. It’s not always like this, just most of the time.
There are a couple of animated ideas I am going to take out into the world this year, as well as some more gallery shows. As always I will be at Comic-Con this year I’m going to get involved with TR!CKSTER. More about the making of Revenge-Bot which I hope you all had a chance to see. Right now I’m checking out some other venues around the country for another Revenge-Bot installation. Also working on turning "100 Robots" in to a book, I'll keep everyone posted. So this is what the post apocalyptic world is like. Far fewer zombies then I imagined.
