Robot And Monster This Saturday!

Here we go, right now the listings are showing Robot And Monster on Nickelodeon at 11AM on the West coast and 8am on the East coast this Sat Aug 4th.

I have received a couple inquiries about the rumor that Robot and Monster was cancelled while in production, or "Pink Slipped" before we even premiered. The good news is none of that is true. Robot & Monster was actually picked up for 14 new episodes that would launch a second season in Aug of 2011. The whole team got really busy, keeping the work going on the first season episodes and creating 14 new ones.

R&M was slated to air in fall of 2011, that got pushed back to Jan 2012. As we went into the holiday break We were hearing that there might be a hold put on second season production, but we would keep moving forward on season one as planned. When we all came back after the break and got the news that season 2 production was to be put on hold, Nickelodeon was still behind the show but the premier was going to be pushed back again with no conclusive air date.

These two things happening at once gave many the impression that we were cancelled completely. Even amongst our crew there were many misunderstandings about what was happening. That said, the shows were funny, they animation was top notch, and the production was always on schedule and sometimes ahead of schedule. This led to much confusion and as we know on the internet all it takes is one person to write up what they believe is happening with out checking the facts and suddenly, magically it becomes truth!

We wrapped production, with a full first season in the can, and we have 14 new episodes that were written, recorded, story boarded, ready to go when we get the word.

My partners Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia and myself are extremely proud of the whole crew and how the show turned out. This kind of rumor doesn’t really help promote the show, especially now when it’s evident that we are on the air and Nickelodeon is fully excited about Robot & Monster. So let's sweep away any rumors from the past and enjoy Robot And Monster right now in the present.

So happy to read this - my four year old is totally in love with this show already and has dubbed herself "robot", me "monster", her father "killbot", grandmother "Nessie" and grandfather "ogo". Hehe! I am equally loving this show - it seems like a classic in the making and reminds me of shows like "ren and stimpy" and "rockos modern life" with it's awesome mix of kid/adult humor.

Thanks Prosperina, nothing I like to hear more, the fact that she is getting the characters is great. Also nice to hear the Kid/adult humor mix is playing well. Keep watching! :-D

Please tell me there will be a 2nd season of R&M soon! We have been waiting and reading the continuous web articles that it was cancelled makes us sad. My 10 year old son and I both love the show. Bring it back!

Dave, please give Robot and Monster a second season. I and my friends and family adore this show so very much, and we would really love it if you gave the show another chance! It has a decent amount of fans at the moment and I would be so happy if the show got a asecond season. Please, give it a chance. It's my all time favorite Nickelodeon cartoon. You're barely giving it a chance. :(

Amanda, So glad that you love the show. I am afraid you don't understand that I do not have control to keep the show on the air, that is the network Nickelodeon. If it was up to me I would make Robot And Monster for the rest of my life, 20 seasons and more. It is not up to me. I want to do more R&M Nickelodeon does not. The best thing to do is write Nickelodeon and tell them how much you love the show and want to see more. They need to give it a chance, I agree with you!

Oh. Yes I understand now. Thanks for telling me. As of now, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that R&M will get a second season. Did you know that people are making petitions because they feel as though R&M only getting one season isn't fair? Apparently there IS a possibility that R&M will get another chance, which excites me. (By the way, I happen to be a big fan of your work! Your artistic abilities are simply brilliant, and you inspire me as I am an aspiring artist!)

Dave- do you have an email or some way for a random fan to contact nickelodeon about R&M? My family & I (that's me plus 1 husband and two boys, 8 & 3) have been waiting & waiting for new episodes and I finally did some research and I was absolutely crushed to find out that there aren't going to be anymore. Robot & Monster in my humble opinion is one of the best shows ever put out by Nick, if. It ever! Characters you fall in love with, amazing visuals, humor for both kids and adults...I just don't understand what happened. I know it can be attributed to personal preference but I honestly don't understand how this isn't one of the more popular shows on the network. Anyways, I really want to write to let the, know that people LOVE this show! I just can't seem to find contact info...

Hey there Krissy33 I am so glad you enjoy the show. My partners and I along with the entire R&M crew were stunned and crushed that Nickelodeon made this decision. We all felt like we were making something good that could have been the next big thing for Nick, unfortunately they did not feel that way. Cyma Zarghami is the president of Nickelodeon. Her address is: Cyma Zarghami President
NickelodeonTV
1515 Broadway
New York, NY 10036
Phone: 212-258-7500
Always good to let them know. Also this is from the Nick website: http://www.nick.com/mynick/write_nick/mail.jhtml To write them. I will do a new post soon with all of this info because I get a lot of fans who feel the way you and your family do. Thanks for the support!

Thank you Dave! I'm going to call and email, I hope they'll actually listen to/read what people are saying. Is there any possibility of going to another network? I just want to see more R&M, I can't believe this has happened!

Hello, Dave. I am a huge fan of R&M. I just love the characters and the plots and well basically every single thing about the show and I was really upset to see that Nickelodeon made such a stupid mistake to cancel your show. I mean they have made many stupid mistakes in the past like firing John Krisfalusi. (creator of Ren and Stimpy) But cancelling R&M?! HOW COULD THEY?! JUST HOW COULD THEY?! If they treated it better like giving it more advertising, it could be as big a hit as SpongeBob. Nickelodeon probably gave it such horrible treatment because Nickelodeon thought it would be sloppy like all those new shows on Nickelodeon. Shows like Fanboy and Chum Chum and Sanjay and Craig, but you can't compare R&M to those shows. I mean, just look at R&M's ratings on imdb.com and tv.com then look at Fanboy and Chum Chum's and Sanjay and Craig's ratings. Notice a difference? I do. Is there anything you can do like play R&M on Cartoon Network or any other kid channels or show Nickelodeon the ratings on R&M or maybe even show all those fan-made forums asking Nickelodeon to bring back R&M. And is there anything the fans can do to help? I really want to see those new season 2 episodes of R&M. Is it possible to put them on your site? But is there any way the fans can help bring back R&M?

P.S: you may have gotten this message twice. I wrote it again because after the first time I wrote it, nothing happened so I sent it twice just to be safe.
